BPAP Interim President recognized for advocacy in blockchain education and industry development
Ferdie James Nervida, Interim President of the Blockchain Practitioners Association of the Philippines (BPAP), was honored with the Outstanding Community Contribution Award at the Philippine Block Awards, held during Philippine Blockchain Week at the SMX Convention Center.
The award recognizes sustained contributions to the growth of the Philippine blockchain ecosystem — including work in policy research, curriculum development, and public education that BPAP has advanced in partnership with government agencies, TESDA, and private sector organizations.
"This recognition reflects the collective work of everyone building the blockchain community in the Philippines — from policy conversations to classroom training," Nervida said. "BPAP will continue pushing for programs that make blockchain literacy accessible, from the national level down to the regions."
The award adds to a growing list of institutional milestones for BPAP, which is currently developing a TESDA-accredited Micro-Credential Course in Fundamentals of Blockchain, alongside continued regulatory and policy engagement on issues such as BSP's crypto asset service provider framework.
